I’ve been looking for a small heli for flying in my yard. I want something a step up from the k110 and I’ve been looking at the new blade 150s but I’ve come across a rtf trex 150x supposedly with only 20 flights and a lot of extra batteries and parts. The blade is new so it’s not battle tested. is the trex 150x still being made or on its way out.

Just wanted to get some input on what you guys thought.

I actually have a 150 DFC for sale to help cover some unexpected bills that came up. Comes with 6 batteries (one Align, two Microheli and 3 turnigy) and some extra blades. Has full metal gears in the servos and a full micro heli frame, swash, DFC arms and tail boom. Mine has been flown quite a bit more than 20 times, but the last time I had it out, it was fantastic. If you are interested in it, just PM me.

But you can still get parts for the little helicopter. X or DFC.

The Gaui x2 is a really nice heli to consider. It is about $300 for the kit and electronics. It’ll be another $100 for the fbl gyro so all in all, about $400 invested. The good thing is there isn’t much of a step up from it so it should last for a while until there would be a need to step up from it.. but, honestly, I’d recommend a 200 size heli as a step up..

Fastfreddie, anyway to sell off things not in use anymore? That’s how I always fund my new stuff.. I always sell things on eBay, these forums, etc. to fund new projects..

Not really other than two xk k110’s and bunch of spare parts. I mean they only go for $60 new. I do have the blade 330x but I’m not ready to get rid of that one yet. The thing is that there really isn’t any really great micro helis on the market because there mostly made for beginners.

Hey there Fastfreddie. Most of these site that said out of stock or back ordered will let you pay in advance and when the product comes in, they'll ship it out to you asap since you already paid for it. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I’m not a fan of the linear servos either but I think if set up right these are decent helis. The instructions need to be followed when setting one of these up. The transmitter settings need to be right, I think, before plugging in the battery on the heli

Well probably the most important factor for me would be durability and part cost. I’m still in the Learning phase with tricks and so far I’ve got flips down pretty good and just getting into inverted so I expect a lot more Oops moments will be in the future.
