General Larger servos and receiver in RC-Help Trainer

I picked up an old 72Mhz Radio with receiver and servos off Ebay a while back when I was building Arduino Robots and it works great, It a 6 Channel Airtronics with the receiver and 4 servos. Rechargable batteries for the radio and the receiver. The problem I found was that it will not work off the battery packs but will if hooked to an ESC and using the BEC from the S3 battery.

Heres the deal. I built another RC-help trainer from the heavier foam board so the airframe is a bit heavier already, but I would like to build this plane with the larger servos and receiver instead of the micros. Should I upgrade to say a 1250Kv motor to compensate for the weight? I am going center mount the servos just like my other plane to help with balancing. Or should I just compensate by adding pitch and using a 1000Kv Motor. Also will it severely impact flight time for the power required to run the bigger servos?

Has anyone used the larger servos in one before?

THanks
