Motors inrunner vs outrunner motor

I'am trying to understand the differance between a inrunnermotor and a outrunner brushless motor.
I have done some research in it and still a little confused.1 sourse said that one of them it turns inside the case to generate poer, 1 said that 1 turns the case itself to gerate the power.Another sourse said that one draws more amps then the other.Don't worry about price .

What i'm really trying to understand by all this is:

1) what one generates more power

2) what one performs better

3)which one is more durable

4) does it make a differance what one goes into an aircraft

You read correctly. An Inrunner has an armature inside the motor connected to the shaft that spins. All wires and electricity are run on the case, and the armature is the magnet.

An Outrunner has all the wires wound in the center mounted to the base. The magnets are mounted on the outer case and the shaft is secured to this outer case. And yes, the whole case spins.

In what I have experienced, an outrunner will give you much more torque over an inrunner. But, an inrunner will give you more rpm. So far, everything I have flown has been done with an outrunner.
