Tonight at the field I fly in, I lost my QAV500 :(
Video signal died and by the time I got the goggles off, I had lost it.
I have just spent the last two hours searching, but now its dark.
If I don't find it tomorrow, I don't know what I'll do :( :(
This is my pride and joy.
QAV 500
All my FPV gear
GoPro Black camera
$1500 of kit just sitting out there somewhere.

Luckily its not somewhere people go, so its not likely that someone will stumble across it.

Please wish me luck tomorrow
If I don't find it, I'll be devastated :( :( :(

One tip from over the years is search methodically so your sure and do not go over the same ground twice and
remember they are always closer than you think. Good luck.

holy crap lee definitely a prayer out for the safe return of your lost quaddy bird ... did'nt it have GPS on it with return to home????? just get a mental picture of line of sight for the last known direction it was headed in your mind when you had the goggles on you know your last visual of the terrain you had in the goggles and conduct your search in a straight path from there.... GOOD LUCK BUDDY HOPE YOU FIND IT

Oh Man, thats my biggest fear getting into this hobby, losing a bird after spending so much time, energy and $ on it.
Good luck with the search Lee.

Keep at it Lee, methodically is the way, don't give up. It took me a week once to find a plane. Any way you can do it from the air? You can cover more ground that way. Again Good luck

Found it :huepfenicon111:

Wait till you see the video :eek1:

We took my friend Inakis QAV500 to try and film from the air and see if it was in a tree top.
Guess what?? He lost control of his quad and it fell in the trees. DOH!!!
Luckily i was spotting, and saw where it went.
He had a prop come loose in the air, thats why it crashed.
While he was fixing it I went for a walk into another field. And there it was.
Just sitting there minding its own business. The battery was about 10m away which I couldn't understand until I saw the video :eek1:

All the broke, was 3 props, the casing of the RX sat, and a damaged battery, and thats it.
I got of very lightly indeed.
I'll let the video tell you the rest, when I upload it tomorrow.

Thanks for all the support guys
