Misc H copter

Just a quick question.
Most of us fly X copter configs but what is the difference with the H copter?
Is it a different flight characteristic than the X.
It seems the motors spin the same and for all practical purposes
they are right across from each other just like the X?

I did read that the H is a little different in that even though the motor distance from side to side is the same the distance from front to rear is not
Also found that some people prefer H over X for aerial filming/photography.

X is symmetrical, so Roll and Pitch act the same, and can be tuned the same.
H is narrower than it is long, so Roll is more sensitive than Pitch, therefore each axis will have slightly different PID settings.
