Misc General question, large multi rotors

It seems to me that the larger hexes and octo's have over sized motors and props for the weight. 8 smaller motors on a carbon frame will lift a large battery and full size DSLR camera(based on manufacturer motor specs), and draw less amps.
I'm guessing the larger motors cause less vibration.
I'm talking about comparing a smaller 950 kv motor to a larger 330 kv motor.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks

The lower KV motors have more torque, can run bigger props at slower speeds.
This as you say will reduce those high frequency vibes. And allow you to carry heavier weights.

Thanks Lee for confirming what I suspected.
I bought a Tarot 680 pro and a Torot T-2D gimbal to build.
I have all the parts to build a cropquad, but instead am going to put them on the Tarot.
940 kv Cobra motors with Castle 35 amp quad pack esc's, and 9x4.5 props.
Just until I can decide on which 50 amp esc to use later.

Lee hit the nail on the head

I am doing just that.... I have 380Kv motors going on a Tarot 960 Hexa with Tiger 15x5.2 props controled by a XAircraft SuperX
Will get close to 25min flight time with a 10,000 6s battery
Also adding a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3 camera as funds permit LOL

My last build on the larger quad was just 650 size on 4s

I'm using Naza. And I'm not impressed.
I am building these machines to sell to farmers.
So I need motors with a written warranty, and the only ones I find are Cobra and Scorpion.
I cant find and documentation for T-Motor warranty.
Do you have any suggestions?

Also....NICE camera!

I have found that the Naza is impressive.
The problem was esc failure.
Even after bench testing the load with an amp meter at full throttle.
The esc's were rated at almost twice the measured load.
Now I'm using Castle esc, and flying in ambient temperatures of 95 degrees f.
No trouble since switching.

Castle Creations is a pretty reputable name. I wouldn't hesitate to use their ESC's for multi rotors....if I wanted to pay that much for them.

I had trouble with them when first installed.
Then I found the instructions stating how to set up throttle travel limits.
Now the work great!

Using the other ESC's I would get about 7 flights then a crash.
It only took 4 crashes before I threw them in the trash and ordered Castle.
Now after 30+ issue free flights.............
