ESC esc in a glider.

OK silly question time.
I have a hawk glider and a spare esc plus 4 batteries with deans connectors fitted..... that I use in my powered gliders
if I use the esc in the glider the motor cables,,
do I just tape them off and not program the throttle in the TX
or do I solder them together and form a complete circuit, but still not program the throttle in the TX.
yes you hear you say,, why have a esc in a glider,,, but it will drop the voltage to the RX,
and will allow me to use the items in other planes............

I haven't done this, but I guess if you are only using the BEC part of the ESC, you don't need to worry.
All you need to do is plug in servo leads red and brown wires, no need for the signal wire.
This will give you the Voltage from the ESC.
Just tape up the motors wires.

Personally I would just buy a bec. I have had an ESC in the past that did not like being without a motor. It got super hot, to the point I thought I lost it.

If you plan on using an ESC, test it and make sure it does not mind being with out a motor.
