Is there a certain esc to get for a brushed motor?

Any brushed ESC for a car will suffice. Just make sure it can handle the power draw.

So I assume a 40a would be ok? I can't really find and info about the motor.

I don't have any idea. I know when I was racing my ESC's were about 90 amps. Higher if I was running modified motors.
