Spektrum dx6i IU 1 IU 2 ?

ive got a dx6i and dont really fly in FM anymore and was wondering peoples thoughts on using fm as IU 1 and just having the throttle @ 0 with throttle hold, until i can get a dx8/dx9, which could be while.

Thats how I have my radios set up. My DX8 has
Pos 0 65%
Pos 1 75%
Pos 2 80%
And I use throttle hold to stop and start the motor.
As long as your Soft start is good, it works.

Are there any safety concern's with not having 0 throttle on the sticks?

Only if you forget to flick it on before powering up the heli
Just to be safe, I only plug the battery in lightly, and hold it.
If the heli starts to spool up, I can unplug it again in an instant.
