DX5E means it has 5 channels as i'm sure you already know. Using a 6 channel receiver would only allow you to use 5 of the channels on it. If you need 6 channels then i'm afraid you need a 6 channel radio, unless you want two servo to work on one channel for something like ailerons on a plane using a Y cable.

I concure with what Lee stated. there is no way to get 6 channels out of a DX5e. and, the DX6i is a computer Tx. You will like it much better.

No worries mate. The DX6I is a great radio, i had one as did most people on the forum. But if you have the $$$ consider getting the DX7 or 8 to allow for your developement in the hobby. Head over the the introduction thread and tell us all about yourself. Heres my Welcome. :)

Yes get the DX6, 7 or 8. The 5e is more for the 4 channel helis and is not as responsive as a computer type controller. I fly a 120sr on my dx5e and the FlySky FS-TH9X on my 450.
