Servos Corona 929 metal gear operation

My Dad and I bought some "very cheap" rc four wheelers and we are replacing the brushed motor with brushless. Installing new 2.4ghz radio systems and swapping out the brushed steering motor for a servo. More specifically, the Corona 929MG servo from Hobby King. The servo has specs for 4.8v and 6.0v. Will we need a BEC or a step down regulator so that the voltage from the batteries don't burn up the servo? I think we are still going to use the original battery tray and "AA" batteries but I think "AA" batteries are 1.5v each. Six "AA" batteries means 9 "total" volts. Even if we used a 2S lipo, that would be 7.4v.

Am I thinking about this correctly?

after a bit of searching around, I was able to answer my own question. The internal BEC of the car esc will work just fine. I must have misread it, therefore misunderstanding it.
