Projects Boeing 737-800

I dont' think I have ever seen a PDF plan of this plane. best thing I can suggest is use a 3 angle drawing of the plane and scale it up to the size you want to build and cut it out. Every project has to start somewhere, why not right here. Once you get it started, things will be challenging, but will fall into place, The best time is when you put it in the air and it flies. Then you know you did something well. If it doesn't fly, then take it back and think of what happened. Was it nose/tail heavy? Did the wings fold? Did if fly at all? If not, is it because of not enough thrust or not enough wing area?

These are the questions I think about when I try to design a new plane. I guess there is a reason there is only one in the store lol. Just don't have the time to do proper testing.

Yes Tony,

It was very hard to find this plan on the internet, However, I found the below pictures explaining the details.

Also, I went to the Boeing Official Site and downloaded the Plan, to view it you have to install DWG Viewer. Here is the link: http://www.boeing.com/boeing/commercial/airports/3_view.page

I will try my best building this plane as I really love it! Will keep you posted, my friend. Wish me a good luck! :cheerful:

Moe; It looks like a nice Plane to build & it could be lots of fun & may take some time to get it finished!

You going to make a balsa build or foam?
Using edf?

What scale are you trying to achieve?

I'm not that familiar with cad yet... but i'm getting there with it... shouldn't be too hard to get the scale out of cad, and then print direct from cad.
What size edf are you going to use?

Well Janathan, here are the links of the Motor and its blade that I am thinking of. I will get 2 as the plane requires that, I love this motor as its sound is really close to the Turbine's sound. As you can see the thrust is 900 g. So I think 2 Motors will thrust about 1800 G, so the plane should be close to that weight to fly successfully.

I have an 80mm delta 32v edf unit with matching e-flite inrunner and i was told by the guy at my LHS that with this unit it should hit speeds close to 100mph and to definitely glass the entire plane otherwise it will decinegrate in mid air especially since it is foam i am going to build a me262 jet fighter with 2 of these units on mine.. Here is what i got which the impellers on my unit is only 5 blades the ones you showed that you will be using although smaller in diameter has double the impellers which all the difference in the world...

Yeah I'd certainly be glassing the motors in and the wings onto the fuselage.
Although with the 737 you probably aren't going to need the 100mph speed!
I'm guessing that you are planning on trying to fly it scale? (meaning you don't want to do loops and stuff)
Are you getting the oleo struts the hk has for the passenger jets?
I'll have a look at scaling and i should be able to give you rough dimensions

Did you mean that it will be difficult to get its spare parts? Also, do you see that DeltaV is better than Turnigy? What are your recommendations?

Do you cecommend another engine with a sound close to the Turbine? Also, for your information, I might use the same engine for F14 Tomcat too (to save money, LOL). Regarding the landing gears, I have not found suitable landing gear for that plane either oleo struts or other kind, do you have a web site sells stuff (Landing gears, Led lights...etc) for commercial planes?

it will more then likely be a bigger jet then the one i am going to build so the extra impeller blades will defiitely help propel it and no i am not saying what i have is better then what you want to use by no means turnigy makes some good motors i have a turnigy typhoon 500 class motor in my hk500gt heli very strong it is what you want to run.... i am always on a budget so normally i purchase stuff fro hobbyking but when i bought my e-flite i had a lil extra cash at the time...i am really looking forward to your build i love passenger jet rc planes.... i actually will be running 2 85 amp turnigy esc's for my edfs

Thank you friend for your additions,

I will keep you posted.

I think the retracts you did show are for a bigger scale than the one I am planning to build as the are heavy (500GM). Also, thy are expensive, LOL Sounds like will make them by my own as I did with my Kadet one :D. See this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3_h0emU_ds

Thank you my friend very much for your support!

These are the retracts I was thinking of out of hobby king
Turnigy Alloy Servoless Airliner Retracts w/Sprung Oleo Legs (90mm 737 / A320)

With the motors I really don't know. I am not too clued up on the edf's at the moment. Plenty of other guys here will have a much better idea than I do when it comes to edf's.
My only thought is making sure that the housing remains scale...
I look forward to seeing it up and running and seeing your build logs

BTW, how did you calculate the speed?

Okay guys,

Here is a plan I found on the internet. When I print it, I will make the scale 1800 %. It will make the span 169 cm and the fuselage 177 cm. I think the plan is clear, however, I will suffer when making the wing as there is no a rip to use as a guide. Wish me a good luck!

Good luck. That is a monster project, by my reckoning. Hope you post progress updates with pics from the build. Should be very interesting to watch as you go through the process.
