Reminded me of the movie, Batteries Not Included. Dammit, now I want to watch that movie...

Looks CGI to me, just about all of it. If it were an actual swarm of quads that would be cool.

it is very possible it is real and here is some proof very similar to that video....

IT's the precision of movement that's the give away. And the CGI like visual and lighting quality of the quads on closeup. I know there are people doing things with swarms of quads in real life, I just don't believe that commercial is one of them. They may well have made one such quad as a "hero" for close ups and for some of the opening single quad shots, but I'm calling CGI on the rest.
