Projects A new Idea of building Kadet Seniorita's Wing

Hi friends,

As I did show you my fisrt Trainer in introduction area (Kadet Seniorita), I would like to share with you how I built the wing as I made it of foam instead of Balsa. I think it will be useful for new pilots as the foam is stronger! It is a nitro plane. Here are the pics, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask me :D

That really is a good job Mohamed. Wonder what voltage and current you used on the hot wire cutting? That foam looks really nice to slice through and sand back. Cheers. A little tip you may know is when putting the glass on at the wing joint you can spread the epoxy out
with an old credit card (or the wife's LOL) and get a really neat, smooth finish.

That is one thing that I LOVE about the iCharger 306b, you can run a hot wire off of it. Might just have to start playing with it.

Impressive build there.
I would like to see the aileron control rod details. What is going on in the shots of the double blade Exacto knife ?
And a thread on that style foam cutting would be cool.

The double blade is actually a blade that you cna purchase to install CA Hinges. Same as I use in all of my 3D planes. Very light and reliable.

Great thread on teh pictures. Love that wing!

Thank you Tony,

I have to admit: it is my captain's Idea, and really liked it :adoration:

Thanks Treff, Actually I use adapter and it converts to 12 V with 3 AH. And yes, the foam is nice to slice through but I am still thinking of how to do that accurately as I use a traditional hot wire, LOL, but I will think to invent a tool for doing that. Thank you so much for your tip and for sure will consider, friend :)

Hey Tony, Did you mean Ipad charger?

Nope, the iCharger 306b. It's a 1000w charger that I have a video on. Just shot one yesterday charging 9 batteries at once with it in under 30 minutes. It will drive a hot wire cutter. Pretty awesome.

As you can see on the pictures below you will find out I twisted a wire and installed in the trailing edge and then covered with a piece of Balsa wood to be controlled smoothly. You will see 2 points of the wire, 1 to be connected to the servo and the other to be connected to the aileron (You have to hole the aileron for for putting the wire in it). Then I used the aileron horns and clips for connection. Regarding the double blade X-Acto Knife, as Tony said it is used to install CA Hinges and it makes an accurate holes for that.
