Good afternoon
I have an Align 700E T Rex which I fly on a Spectrum DX8 it has a 3GX system with a APS bail out. Recently I crashed my 700 I have now rebuilt it and just hovered it all seems ok. I have done a vibration test on the APS it has passed but.... I was not the expert who installed the system, I now live in a remote part of Spain so no help available.
My question is, I now want to fly higher so I can switch on the APS system to see if it is functional will it work if I dont switch over to idle up. My instructions were that the APS only works when in idle up mode, the reason I crashed in the first place was a I took off in APS the tail blade hit a stone and broke the blades the heli started spinning as I was in idle up mode and APS mode I did not have enough flying experience to switch off both the APS and switch off the idle up. That is why I want to first try fly out of idle up so ill be better prepared if something goes wrong. Thank you Peter
