450L with 500 gear

Heres my dominator with the 500 landing gear fitted. Gives a much bigger footprint and more tail rotor clearence. Im hoping for more success with this set up! I have also fitted the tail boom supports from the 500. Original skids shown underneath to compare.

That looks pretty good, for learners like us that looks like a pretty good idea. I would move the rubber feet out as far out as they can go to improve stability when landing on hard surfaces. Excellent tail rotor clearance as well. You followed sound advice by Lee.

Ya know.....Mda1701d....I, personally, don't have a problem with using larger skids like that. I have 600 skids on my 500 and I love it. Larger foot print and I think it looks better with the 600 skids (personal opinion).

I think your 450L looks pretty cool with the 500 skids.

I have moved the rubbers as suggested.
I dont mind the look either, a bit like a 450L on steroids?? Maybe we should try and sell it back to Align??
Still waiting for a reasonable evening to try it though, now we have torrential rain here in the East!!

Did you re check the centre of gravity again, I think it may be a good idea, just in case.
