    Servos Servo Mods

I found out the idea by accident. I often use a remote position pot, and one time I'd forgotten to disconnect the internal pot in the servo, and the servo throw suddenly increased by about 25%, so I INVESTIGATED !!

    Servos Servo Mods

At last I've found a cheap way of increasing servo throw. Bridge the terminals of the position detector pot with 2.2k resistors. This increases the throw from 90° to 120°. It works with standard and mini servos. The resistor value seems to depend on the value of the position pot, but I've yet to...

    Servos 180°

The idea of making a screw actuator from a 360° servo is not mine - I got the idea off utube. I developed the idea of the remote position sensor myself, and instead of using commercially available brass lead screw and nut, which needs metalworking facilities, I just used what I had available...

I hope that this shows my actuator working.

Can't seem to get the video uploaded, it's either too big or incorrect format, but I'll keep trying.

    Servos 180°

I've found the solution to the 180° servo problem - I've used a 360° continuous rotation servo to make a screw jack with the innards of an insulin syringe. This powers the tipper body. Another servo had the motor and gears removed, and this controls the limits of travel. I am well pleased with...

    Servos 180°

I am making a tipper mechanism for a truck. There is not room for a standard servo, so I have to use a miniature servo, but to get the power needed to lift a full tipper body I need the servo to throw 180°. Also, I want to use a 3 ch tx, but my tx 3rd ch is only full + / full -. The tipper body...

    Servos 180°

My ongoing problem with servo travel.... I need a servo with 180°, but can't afford a tx with 150% overdrive. Solution _ disconnect the pot from the servo, and connect a remote pot linked to the part that is moving. It works on the bench, just needs fitting to my tipper truck.

General WLtoys V911 Will bind with Flysky FS-t6

I use a flysky tx 6ch on my wl 911,912, spyder rock crawler, 1:16 army truck, and most of my DIY projects. A good general purpose tx.

    Servos Servo Mods

I've bought a few micro servos (and standard servos) that are described as 180°, but I can only get about 100° out of them. Does anyone know what I can do to gain that extra 80°, without an expensive servo stretcher or fancy tx that overdrives beyond 120%.

    Servos Servo Mods

I have a few servos, some were bought as 180° servos, but they all give a full travel of about 100°. I've tried different tx's, rx's and battery sizes, but no change. Apart from buying a "servo stretcher" is there anything I can do to give me more travel. All of the servos are physically capable...

    Servos Servo Mods

I've had difficulty on getting geared motors, or motors with built in ESCs, so I've been modifying servos to suit. Some I've made continuous, and some I've cut out the internal ESCs completely, and wired the motor direct, so I've got a nice high torque geared motor.

    Trucks Modifications

Originally a toy Chinese army truck. Fitted 2.4GHz rx & ESCs, tipper mech is a tail motor from a heli, tipper gearbox was a rudder box from a micro speedboat. I devised a linkage to operate the tailgate, and made greedy boards for the tipper body. Now it's a SEACOAL WAGON!

Trucks Trx 4 Land Rover Wahooo

My Spyder came with solid diff, but I fitted free diff and found that I lost too much traction on sand, so I tried the solid diff in back then front, and found the best all round performance with a free diff on the back and a fixed diff on rear. Also, I lowered the suspension to give better...

    ESC Multiple Escs

I need to run 2 esc's from the same battery, but only one or the other will work. I know that the receiver gets it's power from the ESC, and the Rx in turn powers the servos. Does anyone think that disconnecting the red power lead between one of the ESCs and the Rx would help? Ch 1 steering...

    Projects Servos

I'm converting a flatbed army truck into a tipper. I've got the linkages all sorted, but the servo will only rotate about 90°, and it's supposed to be a 180°. I bought 2 and they're both the same. I've tried a standard one and it's the same. I need a 180°rotate to make the mechanism work...
