500 Blade 450 3d Belt tracking off of Rotor gear

Just looked at my Blade 450 and the tail rotor shaft should not move. Double check that you have installed both bearings onto the shaft before closing the housing. Also make sure that the housing is shut tight. Take a magnifying glass and look at the schematic that is in the instruction book...

    Spektrum DX6i Batteries

I believe its time to change the rechargeable batteries on my DX6i. They're not holding a charge when not used for a few days. Does the Tx hold onto the settings when the batteries are pulled or is it necessary to re-enter all data after changing the batteries? I intend to also change out...

    Motors Inrunner vs outrunner?

D.O.G. Your post tweaked my interest so I went a Googled "outrunner vs inrunner" and was surprised that there are a good number of informative posts. Seems your question is fairly common. Also did a search for "outrunner timing" with good results.

    Settings vanished into thin air.??

Had that happen when I neglected to shut off my DX6i and it ran down to nothing. Lucky that I had my setting recorded.

    Found new place to fly

Since starting with helis I've been flying in the front yard, a bit narrow due to trees. This, I hope, has been hampering my abitity improving. Last week I started taking a heli to the park with me when I go to work out at the gym, at the park, mornings. I found a field way in the back where...

Batteries don't you just love em

An inexpensive battery volt meter, about the size of a cig. lighter. I've had one for quite a while, it reads total volts and the volts for each cell.

    Batteries Low voltage

I'm pretty sure its the battery starting to go, its pretty old, and when I check voltage after use 1 cell is much lower than the other two. I use a separate meter to check voltages after flying.

    Batteries Low voltage

I have a similar condition with one of my LiPo's, I get a high voltage alarm for one cell when charging. I've been correcting it by balancing and then finishing off the charge. I'm going to retire the battery, just ordered 2 replacements, there's a 2nd one also starting to act up.

    General Lipo Log Sheet

I keep a notebook with my battery data. I log: date, flight time, voltage at end of flight; charge time; and mA charged. I find it interesting that given exact flight times there can be a good difference in the other data depending on how you flew.

    General Servo tester.

I'm totally unfamiliar with servo testers. When I read the instructions shown I don't see where an ESC is necessary. There is no mention of an ESC. I would interpret the instructions that the battery can be connected directly to the tester.

450 Blade 450 spinning out of control, HELP!!!!

If the tail is belt driven check the tension on the belt. If it seem tight check the belt drive gear, I had the plastic teeth wear on the small belt drive gear and had the same problem. Solved the problem by installing the aluminum upgrade.

    Servos Servo questions?

I had a similar problem with a belt driven tail rotor. I also thought it might be the servo. After a complete inspection I found the plastic belt drive gear/pully was worn and not engaging the slats on the belt. I replaced it with an aluminum unit and haven't had any problem since.
