General Advise for Fist Foam Board Build

Yeah, larger size helps but I've flown in some pretty high winds before. One time I made a trip to Topeka, Kansas and the winds we gusting above the stall speed of the Cessna 172 we flew out there. I had my wife, girl friend at the time, get someone to tie the plane down before I let go of the...

General Advise for Fist Foam Board Build

Been away from the computer for a while and just saw your response. Thanks for the info. General knowledge like that is what I was after and it helps. I've downloaded the plans on the trainer and found a series on You Tube that Tony did so should be easy and fun. I've ordered some parts for the...

    General General Helicopter Servo Question

Actually, I have all flybarless so ordered Flybarless Helicopters from him. There's a lot of info on the net but I spend a lot of time searching so this is just what I'm looking for. Something that is in more of a course format. I'm actually playing around with fundamentals now studying and...

    General General Helicopter Servo Question

Thanks Heliman450. I tend to read a lot of tech related books instead of just pure entertainment books so makes sense to me to read that book at night. I'm a retired test engineer so prefer boiled down material that gets in depth. I've ordered "Shop and Field Companion". Thanks for telling me...

General Advise for Fist Foam Board Build

I have some spare Spektrum AR636 receivers on hand and decided to try making a couple foam airplanes over the winter. I'm wanting roughly a 3 to 4 ft wing span so am asking what brushless motor would be good as well as ESC and Servo's. Is there any benefit in digital versus analog servo's too...

    General General Helicopter Servo Question

Thanks for the info. When I tear a heli down I have always labelled where the leads came from. I'm still fairly new to heli's and it was just a general question. Admiral gave the the generalized answer I was looking for. Thanks to all for your input.

    General General Helicopter Servo Question

I'm a bit confused about receivers and the servo's they control. There are ports on the receiver for ELE, AIL, and RUD as well as AUX1 controlling pitch. What confuses me is pitch needs to control all three servo's, aileron needs to control two, and elevator one. If you take things apart and...

    General iKON Setup Question

I found a spare tail servo in my parts bag. I think where I went wrong as keying in the frequencies in the frequency window. I went through the setup again just reading the info on the left. For the servo's I selected the icon that gave me the desired frequency and that worked. The next problem...

    General iKON Setup Question

A word of caution. I followed the instructions of the video and cooked my tail servo. After new tail servo arrives I'm going to go through the setup and choose the defaults again. Had everything working that way and should have at least test flown before deciding I needed to try further...

    General iKON Setup Question

How do you watch the servo temps, IR temp sensor gun? What temps do you want to stay under? Also, how do you know a servos not happy: stutter, noise... Sorry for all the questions but I'm still on the steep slope of the learning curve trying to cram as much knowledge in as quickly as I can.

    General iKON Setup Question

I'm installing the iKON IKN1002 on my 180 CFX. I can't find info on the update rate of the servo's that the install program asks me to set. The three cyclic servos are Spektrum Nanolite High Speed (SPMSH2060) and the tail servo is an E-Flight 7.6g Sub Micro Digital (EFLRDS76TJ). Anyone know...

Sailplanes Spektrum DX7 (New Model) Spoilerons for Motor Glider

Yeah, I went ahead and set it up with acro and everything seems to work good. The only down side is I can't get a nice glider icon on the display like I could if I'd set it up under glider. Anyway, don't look at the icon much anyway so no big deal.

    Other Mikado Vcontrol

"That ""Last"" Radio". Brave words, how many times have I uttered something similar. My wife cringes every time I say something like that now. Anyway, Good luck with that. You've got a hell of a radio so maybe it'll be true.

450 Align 450 pro tail servo.

Good to hear you got the parts. Now that the 300 is together need to fly it but took the 230S out to fly yesterday and managed to slam it into the ground pretty good. Looks like I'm waiting on parts again. Broke a chunk out of the frame and busted the canopy. Servo's check good on the bench so...

Sailplanes Spektrum DX7 (New Model) Spoilerons for Motor Glider

I just got a foam motor glider, the Multiplex Solius. I want to program spoilerons but don't see this as an option if I select sailplane as a aircraft type. I have to set up the glider as a regular acro airplane for a spoileron wing option. I'm new to RC and this is my first glider so just...

450 Align 450 pro tail servo.

Finished the 300 this afternoon just a little while ago. As I was congratulating myself for coming out perfect on hardware, no extra, no shortage. I noticed the belt tension pulleys were not installed and had to take it apart to install them. Oh well. good practice. Anyway it's all back together...

Good luck with the assembly. I'll be trying to get a 300 CFX back together myself today.

450 Align 450 pro tail servo.

Not sure if it's exactly the same but viewed from the tail my 450 Plus has the servo slightly offset to the left. The servo arm goes to the right and the rod link is pretty centered with the tail boom. - - - Updated - - - Don't want to throw you off with the rod link info. Naturally it is off...

    General Blade 130X help

Yeah, the balloon busting is under the Competition menu. It has different settings you can try. I use the Max Score option with the time set to 5 minutes. Main reason I use it is because the other timed game is just for 3 minutes. I play it with helicopters and airplanes. Definitely easier to...
