Projects Trex 470LM - Cyclic servos too tight and too close to the main shaft?

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted here. Recently bought a new Trex 470lm kit, along with the specific DS450M Align servos the instructions suggest for cyclic. This is only my second larger heli build (first was a Trex 450), but the servos seem ridiculously tight. Specifically, the servo...

    Kits Fuse Covering Trickiness

Thanks, as always Tony. Well, covering is coming soon. Thank you for the advice. I guess I'll just hide it under the top wing. Adding a few pics. One more wing to go (joining it) and I'm ready to cover.

    Kits Fuse Covering Trickiness

Hey folks, been MIA for a while (I work a lot). Anyhow, trying to finish up my biplane (Super Skybolt), and I could use some ideas on this. Please see the attached photo. Full disclosure here... I've covered a good 3 dozen planes in my day (starting with tissue for U-controlled), but never got...

General How to set throttle curve expo in DX7?

Actually, I think I just found this right after posting. In the Pitch Curve settings you can toggle expo on/off. I think this is what I'm looking for. Maybe someone can tell me if this sounds good before I try flying it tomorrow. My pitch curve was linear. Now I've changed it so it flattens out...

General How to set throttle curve expo in DX7?

Hi all, I would like to add expo to my heli (Trex 450), because it's really difficult to keep it hovering vertically in position. The throttle stick is so touchy (up/down). Tony had suggested I add some expo a long time ago. I just watched his video on expo and dual rates, and it makes a lot of...

Kits Wire for wrapping cabane struts or pushrods

    Cool, thank you Jim!

Kits Wire for wrapping cabane struts or pushrods

Hi Jim! It's actually the center cabane wires... maybe I shouldn't say struts (those are probably on the wings only). I attached two images from a pdf of the manual I found online. The elevatore push rod is the one I need to redo though. FYI, you can see this in the manual also...

Kits Wire for wrapping cabane struts or pushrods

Hi all, it's been a while! Started working on my biplane again and ran into a problem. It comes with four pieces of 'silver wire' used for wrapping the cabane struts and the split elevator push rod pieces. I forgot to put some inner pushrod pieces on the elevator push rods before soldering it...

    New member/Old Dawg

Welcome Mike! Wow, you sure chose a challenging wing style (and big plane) to build for your first go, but that's great! Can't wait to see how it turns out. I second the flight sim thing... they're great these days. Pricy sometimes, but pay for themselves!

    Bathroom Remodel!

If that's the case, ya, way simpler. Here's some of my more 'favorite' pieces I had to do:

    Bathroom Remodel!

Oh my god, those are dominos lol! But I bet they could do more than one at a time. Still!

    A couple more flights

Wow! That's some seriously badass flying man! God that gives me motivation to keep at the helis. Those inside loops are just awesome! This is probably a dumb question for experience heli folks... but why does the KDS seem less agile, more maybe a little slower, than the Goblin? They're both...

    Spektrum Spektrum DX7 - DSM2 - Should I be worried?

Well, he claimed it did while I was flying... "did you hear that?" But I was focused on other stuff.. so then I started pacing his plane and listening, and he said it didn't happen at point. But I try to give the benefit of the doubt... especially in these cases. But I had to wonder why, if it...

    Bathroom Remodel!

Thanks you guys! It was brutal! Doesn't look like it, but there's almost 800 pieces of tile in that bathroom... all of which had to be set individually, one at a time. It was mind-numbingly tedious. I'd like to take the tile cutter and drop it off a cliff sometime.

    Spektrum Spektrum DX7 - DSM2 - Should I be worried?

So I was out at the field this weekend and some of the guys mentioned that I should be worried about using an older DX7 (not 7s), which uses DSM2. They claim that there are folks around our field that use some special beaming technology that beams info from place X to place Y (these places they...

Kits Few Questions about .90 Size Planes

Ya, that's close to what I just did too. I epoxy in the firewall, then some triangle pieces behind it. And then use CA for both the tank area and the engine compartment and the rest of the firewall. Rdsok, sorry to bug you one more time... I've looked over a lot of servos and here are my best...

Kits Few Questions about .90 Size Planes

Thanks rdsok! I mean, usually I build 98% to plan, but there's a few things I always tweak. You guys probably do too (?) I'd guess. Speaking of which... what are some of those things? That's really what I'd like to know from other kit builders. Is there a good thread on this stuff? Not sure...

General Tony Has A New Airplane

God, I have no idea reading your post. Gonna have to go with what EyeStation guessed because he probably knows you well (better than I do). But i'm excited to see a new flight video!!!
