450 Just A Riddle

With the current situation, delivery of orders get stuck for a long time.

So, with my new Trex-450L Dominator, I needed a tool which is holding me back...
I am comming here after many years flying fixed wing, and thought about it... and came up with the item I made today in my workshop.

Hope some of you can guess, what is it for and what did I use to make it...

Swash leveler !

Personally i usually just use the zip-tie method to level the swash but yours looks very well thought out. One advantage of the zip tie though is that you dont need to remove the head to fit it.

1) Well, on a Trex-450 , there is not enough space to stick a zip-tie without removing the head
2) If I already remove the head, this is more convenient and can be used again if required
3) A zip-tie, has some flexibility in it, makes it not rigid and probably less accurate

But, that's only my opinion

Thanks

If the zip tie cant go round the main shaft you can put it round the grip with the 'tail' pointing down and trimmed to length so it rests close to the swash. This is how i usually do it.

But you are right in that zip-ties are flexible so you do need to take a bit of extra care that it's not moving. No 'right or wrong' answer here, whatever does the job for you is good:encouragement:

My RC Logger pitch gauge comes with a swash leveler that you can use on any size heli it actually attaches to the swash.

I use the Soho heli kit for anything 450 and up ..dead nuts for accuracy. There is a small learning curve involved, but man I wont leave home with out it.:biglaugh:

Soko Heli Tools Complete Soko Pitch Gauge Kit [SOKO-KIT] | Helicopters

Everyone has a favorite, all of them will work but this is my absolute go to for dead on accuracy. I mentioned the learning curve, so if quick and dirty are your game, dont even touch this. But if you dont mind working through it and enjoy when things are really set up sweet, in my opinion its the one to use.
Looks interesting, I am one for getting it right, as much as possible, not to rush to finish.
Thanks

So the pitch gage deal. My rc logger also has a leveler adapter. I don't like it. I fallow the setup steps for the soko heli tool. Its very convoluted if your don't have their equipment. It works if your willing to go through the setup to do it. Its really close.

The soko heli tool is a digital pitch guage. It as a tray that fastens into your blade grip. The guage sits on that for pitch angle. Anyways its very accurate to use if you buy the phone app. The phone app is must for the tool to work right.
