General Mounting A Camera

I got the RunCam 2 for Christmas and am thinking about how and where to mount it on my high-wing planes. I've surfed the internet regarding this but hope to get the benefit of your experience.

Location: prefer not to be looking through the prop; concerned about the extra weight (49 grams / 1.7 oz.) affecting CG and balance

Mounting method: is velcro good enough? Use the bracket that's included with the cam or mount the cam directly?

Thanks.

If this is a single motor plane, then looking through the prop is really the only option. With the weight of the camera, you do not want to side mount it.

As for how to mount it, as rigidly as possible, which takes out velcro. You can try it, and if it is okay, great. But I suspect there is going to be some jello in your video.

Best thing to do is get a rear motor plane that is made for FPV if you don't want to see the prop.

CG on a high wing should be close to the spar of the wing. High wing, that would be above the prop some what. ? On top of the wing...?

High wing would be the wing is on top of the fuse. Low wing is under the fuse, and a mid wing is right inside the fuse. Think of, high wing = Piper Cub. Low Wing = P51 Mustang and Mid Wing = Edge 540.
