General 470lm Belt Tension

Hi,
Regarding ALIGN 470LM adjustable belt tension, not able to adjust the belt tension. I tightened the screw full and made loose full. still not able to see a difference in the tension of the belt. Any advise please.

I seem to remember there is a way to install that system backwards that wouldn't allow it to be tightened. I can't remember specifics on it, but definitely worth looking into. I'm going to see if I can pull up a schematic of it.

In the manual on page 10, you will see the wheel that tightens. Make sure you are backing off the bolt on the right side so that you can allow the wheel to move enough to tighten the belt. If you don't, it acts like a stop.

Pull little back (may be 2mm) the tail boom and then try with the adjustable belt tension. we can notice the belt is getting tension or loose.

Although it has belt tensioning adjusters, I think people presume you have to push the boom in as far as it goes (as per torque tube) and adjust. Need to remember to treat it as a normal tail belt drive and loosen the adjusters off, pull the tail back to get tension, then use adjusters after. I did it myself with the 470lp I had last year and could not get decent tension even with the adjusters fully in. Not made the same mistake with my latest one though but as per all manuals, they presume you already know.

Want To add that if you fly in cold weather then make sure to leave a slight bit of slack on the belt prior to using the tension. In cold weather the belt will shrink. All you need to do is loosen the tensioner and your set.

On all my birds I have to reset belt tension the old school way. Loosen the boom then set tension.
