Well, decided to try it with rattle cans. This is a EC145, 600 size. I have no mechanics planned yet. Depends how the paint job comes out.......lol. After hours of priming and sanding I sprayed the silver last night. I attached a photo of the full scale I hope it will look like. Got the exact fonts for the lettering too.IMG_0595.JPG Nightingale 3.jpg

One thing you can do to get a good spray can paint job is put the can in how water from the tap. NO more than 120ºF. This will heat up the paint and make it atomize finer and lay down better. Can't wait to see the progress.

That's looking sweet Fran. If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me what primer did you use? I just finished up fiber glassing my 450 coastguard fuselage and I'm in the sanding process now. I'm not sure of what primer and paint to use. The Admiral suggested Tamiya paint. I was just wondering what you are using for both :)

Well honest, I had very little work to do on the fuselage. It was smooth and primed. I used all Rustoleum painters touch for the primer, red and silver. The black stainless was universal rustoleum black stainless. I bought some clear too but decided not to use it, I was afraid it would react with the other paint. I wanted to use Tamiya but couldn't find the colors local. I should be finished with the paint tomorrow and will post.

I had a tail strike and had to fiberglass it. My first glass job. Still got a long way to go. IMG_4169.JPG

If they are all the same type (enamel, acrylic, latex...) then it should be fine. It will definitely bring out the shine with a good clear and it will help protect the paint from the sun. I would do it and might still... You know what I'm talking about hahaha.

OK gang, check it out.... not perfect but not bad at all. All thats left is to glue the stabilizers on and put the foot steps on.. and o-yeah find some mechanics for it...lolIMG_0605.JPG IMG_0607.JPG

That’s an awesome paint job. You did a really good job.

Do you paint them from the inside or outside?

Outside, it's fiberglass so it's not clear. It was a Roban kit. I bought it unpainted so I could do the Nightingale scheme. I must say I was impressed at how well it looked out of the box. As I mentioned I had very little work to do on the glass. And the windows fit perfect in the holes. I should mention also that the kit came with everything needed for the raised tail. I think Im going to use a Phoenixtech kit for the mechanics. Seems it's made for that exact kit.
