So whats up with all the new 600 size nitros? And when you have Matt Bottos and Alan Szabo show you a test flight??? Marketing 101....N556.png 600XN.jpg

Yeah, you wait for ages nor a 600 Nitro then two come along at the same time!.. They both look nice. I'm guessing the price points will be somewhat different. I'd like to see more details of the Align, I think it may use the same idler gear arrangement as the 700XN which has been a bit problematic for some people. Maybe on the slightly smaller heli it will be ok.

That idler gear system looks cool. But I always thought "keep it simple cause simple is smart" The Synergy is at $625 and comes with nothing like all Synergy's. Still waiting on a new 600E from somebody...

The idles just seem unnecessary. They were added to the 700XN purely as a fix for a tail heavy CG, but there are much better ways to get a good CG that dont complicate the transmission.

Align are long overdue a new 600 electric heli. The old 600L Dominator is discontinued but so far no sign of a replacement.

Align's 600XN coming in at $1225 and all it comes with is servos and a cheep regulator. What happened to the best bang for the buck?

That's pretty steep. Amazingly the Synergy 556 looks to be the cheaper option if you went for reasonably priced servos such as KST.

That's what I thought. Their offering another combo that comes with an engine and a pipe for 1413. That I guess is not to bad...

I saw the new 600XN up close and witnessed it's maiden flight on Saturday. This was at a big meet in the UK called Helifest. The 600XN was supposed to be the first one to fly in Europe and only arrived in the country the day before the event. The Align UK team brought it along, it looked very nice and flew great once they got the motor dialled in.

My personal choice would be Synergy, all day long. Not that there is anything wrong with Align...I flew them for years. But I don`t like the multiple gears between the clutch and the main gear. A few of my friends who fly the 700XN, have had nothing but problems with those gears. But these were first release models, so they may have fixed the issues by now.

There was a recall on the idler gears and gearbox that effected the very first batch of 700XN helis. New parts were supposed to have been sent out to anyone who had purchased one of the original batch.... This happened immediately after release so your friends should be using the new parts. I have seen some reports of the gears and plastic case running extremely hot and also some pictures of where the gears have got so hot they melted the case and the idler came out of the side. Are these the problems your friends were having?

The 700XN at Helifest were flying great but these were helis owned by sponsored pilots so for all i know they were changing out the gearbox regularly.

All that designing to move the COG forward, I just don't know. I like the SAB design honestly, but if I could build a Synergy for just penneys more then Align,,, that's a no brainer for me... However if any helicopter can take what Alan Szabo can put it though??? lol

Yes those were the exact problems they were having. One of them even posted a photo of a hold cut through the main frames, when the gears let go.
