450 Upgrade?

So, I have this HK kit HK-500TT Flybarless 3D Torque-Tube Electric Helicopter Kit , I have never flown the damn thing. I have replaced the torq tube drive gears several times.
Seems to spin up and slow down ok. Try to fly it and land and it strips the TT drive.
Is there an upgrade kit to convert this thing to a belt drive?
If not I am thinking about ordering the HK-450GT PRO V2 3D Belt-Drive Helicopter Kit, kit is cheap, but shipping is high

If there is, it would be an HK clone part. Which I do not suggest. I almost want to ask you what you want for it, because I have a member here that is wanting me to do some testing on a 500 size helicopter, but alas I have no money lmao.

do this, check your gear mesh on the tail gears. Get the black gears from Align and set the mesh as tight as you can with there still being some play in there. That should keep you from stripping them out.

I was thinking the Align black gears also. Maybe even try to boiling the gears. I heard that works too. Although they may not be as strong as the black they would be more strong not boiling them. Also check and seeif KDE direct might have something. If not email them and see what they say.

The striping is a plaque with the older torque tubes.

The kit from Infinity seems to be the answer. Came in yesterday and all seems to be good quality stuff, all Tarot parts.
Took a little doing to get the boom apart and figure out how to get the thing all together.
Got it done though, now I am going to go through all the servo setup.
Might even get this thing to fly eventually

Stop hitting the tail on the ground and you'll not strip gears. Also try a taller landing gear. That helps. I have 700 landing gear on my 600!

Didn't hit the tail at all, seems all I had to do was throttle up for a lift and set it back down. Looked like the accelerate and decel killed the gears.
Belt drive should be better. Any suggestions for a good gyro for this thing? I have an HK401 on there now, is there something better?

If i am not mistaken you hk401 is for flybar not flybarless. Is there one better than the hk401, yes there is but not for your application.

You will need a 3 axis gyro for it. If you something easy to setup any of the beastx gyros will be perfect. If you can front the money for a new beastx the grab it, if not check out something like t h e hb800 by hobbywing or one of the other clones.

To be clear, this is for my HK450 TT, Its a Flybar heli.
I can afford pretty much whatever I want, but I don't see spending multiple hundred on a $50 bird.
Looking for something that will make this thing fly decent. Built it near 3 years ago and have never flown it because it kept breaking.
Hopefully the belt kit will fix that.

Then any tail gyro will do. The hk401 should do the trick. If you have tail issues then i would look into something a tad better.

Ps i never used an hk401 so i dont know what to expect. I know a few on here used them. Good luck.

Take this for what it's worth... I will NEVER suggest anyone use the HK401 gyro. Even with the hot glue mod, it still drifts all over the place. Get yourself a good digital servo and if you need to save cash, get the HK250 gyro. Click this link for the gyro. I even have a setup video on it. I think it's a great gyro for the price.

JUNK THAT 401! Seriously. You will be chasing tail issues left and right, literally lmao.
